Abandoned FARDC Military Equipment in Goma

Protective equipment, including bulletproof vests, helmets, boots, and other gear used by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC), is seen abandoned on the battlefield in Goma after their defeat by the M23 rebel group. The equipment was left near the gates of the MONUSCO headquarters, the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The battle took place in Goma, the capital of North Kivu province, on January 30, 2025.
